Group F

Argentina once again enter a major tournament expected to do big things, and they've been granted a draw that looks to guarantee progress to the knockout rounds at minimum. Their attacking talent is well known, with Sergio Aguero and Lionel Messi leading from up top and Angel Di Maria and Maxi Rodriguez(!!!) providing support going forward. Former Liverpool midfielder Javier Mascherano will also have an important part to play as the Argentines look to get off on the right foot tonight.

Their opposition have one of the most compelling stories of any nation in the tournament, and Kirsten Schlewitz from the main page has outlined their background and why you should support them. Playing in their first World Cup finals, there's a chance for them to get a taste of success, but it will likely come in the Group F fixtures to follow rather than against a strong Argentina side.
