Ryan McLaughlin signed with Barnsley on a one-month loan a couple weeks ago, and had an impressive debut against Blackpool. Now, the he and the Championship club have extended his stay:
Ryan McLaughlin has agreed to extend his loan stay at Oakwell from Liverpool until the end of the season. #DeadlineDay #BarnsleyFC #LFC

This is a good sign, as McLaughlin needs as much experience as he can get. Liverpool challenged the 19 year old with this assignment, and he's responded well so far. Now the challenge will be to see if he can maintain his early momentum.
It's likely that McLaughlin will be due another loan next season, though if he plays well enough down the stretch and Liverpool secure Champions League football, you never quite know what will happen. Best of luck to the young man for the rest of the season.
