According to talkSport, Yevhen Konoplyanka has chosen to sign with Liverpool over Tottenham Hotspur. Obviously talkSport are a bit of a... dubious source, but this seems to fit with the momentum that's been heading Liverpool's way for the last 24 hours as the process of trying to acquire the Ukrainian winger has gone on. Sky Sports is also reporting on TV that the player is "keen" on joining Liverpool.
It's believed that both Ian Ayre and Dave Fallows are in Ukraine to hash out the final details. Reports are still quite variable as to his fee, with most quoting around £15 million, but a growing number suggesting a smaller price tag of about £12 million. It seems like there might be some currency transposition going on, as £12 million would be roughly equivalent to €15 million, and we've seen the British media simply change the Euro sign for pounds sterling with no conversion for no apparent reason on many occasions before.
Either way, there's still some work left to do before a move would be official. Personal terms still need to be agreed (but are though to be no concern in this instance), and a medical needs to be done. Still, at this point things are looking very good indeed that Konoplyanka will be wearing red soon.
