Elizabeth clued us in earlier in the day that a loan move could be on the cards for Andre Wisdom, who's found playing time limited in the senior squad. Last fall he did well to cover in an emergency right-back role, but with a shift to central defense on the horizon and the club adding to its ranks with Kolo Toure, Mamadou Sakho, and Tiago Ilori, minutes were always going to be limited this season. A few appearances because of injuries aside, a loan deal was always going to be the best option for Wisdom.
And now it appears that the deal is done, with the young defender tweeting earlier:
Can't wait to start at Derby :-))))

This means that confirmation from the club should be arriving soon, and hopefully indicates that Wisdom will be available for selection when Derby host Birmingham this Saturday. Though they're already out of the League Cup after losing to Leicester, the relatively busy Championship calendar should afford him the chance to get regular minutes, and ideally will allow him to further develop as he shifts back to a central defensive role.
Best of luck to him during his time at Pride Park, and we'll be sure to keep tabs on him as the season progresses.
