Origi's Liverpool Medical Underway as Remy Deal Stalls

Liverpool are reportedly set to finalize the Divock Origi deal, with a medical set for completion in the US, while Loic Remy's deal gets delayed slightly.

Liverpool's US tour carries on over the next few weeks, and their transfer business reportedly follows suit. At least three longer-standing targets are rumored to have deals completed in the coming days, with Dejan Lovren expected to finally move from Southampton and each of Loic Remy and Divock Origi in the advanced stages of finalizing their respective moves from QPR and Lille.

The latter pair appear to be closest, with Remy completing a medical midweek and Origi now following suit, as he's met up with the club stateside ahead of completing his transfer--that will include an immediate loan back to Lille--to Liverpool:

There's nothing but speculation as to what the "complicated paperwork" in the Remy deal consists of; everything seemed fairly straightforward as the deal progressed in the last week or so, and at this point it's not likely there's going to be much that gets in the way of the signing's completion. Only mild cause for concern (if any) regarding that deal, whereas the news with Origi is nothing but positive. Liverpool had to beat out a few other teams to secure his signature after a terrific World Cup performance, and now he'll have the chance to gain further experience at Lille both domestically and on the continent as they get their Champions League qualifying underway against Grasshoppers on July 30.
