Despite rumours over the summer that Suso was angling for a move away, and despite rumours since that he's already agreed a pre-contract with Milan that will see him head to Italy at the end of the season, the young Spaniard's agent insists that nothing has been decided. He also says that for his client, his preferred choice would be to stay with the Reds.
"Suso is a Liverpool player and his goal is to establish himself at Liverpool," agent Jamie Serra told MilanNews. "If there is a team interested in him they will have to speak to the club and come to an agreement with them first. As for Milan, he wouldn't reject the possibility and it would be a pleasure to play for them, but there would have to be an agreement with Liverpool.
"His first choice is to stay where he is, and I do not know if Milan has made any offers—they certainly haven't to me. You would have to ask Liverpool if they've received one. Milan did ask what his situation was, and I talked to them about his qualities."
It's not all good news for Liverpool fans hoping to see Suso stick around, though, as Serra did confirm that his client's contract expires at the end of the season, meaning he's free to sign a pre-contract with another club in January. At that point, if Milan—or any other club—are willing to wait a few months, they can make an offer directly to the player.
Suso's future may well lie elsewhere, and that Milan have not made an offer yet is something of a moot point when they cannot do so formally until January. Yet taken at face value, it at least suggests the midfielder hasn't made up his mind to leave the club next summer. For now, for those hoping to see Suso come good at Liverpool, that will have to be enough.
