It was just before the half-hour mark. Liverpool had just given up the opening goal thanks to some less-than-stellar defending. The old doubts, the old anxieties, were starting to creep in.
Not to worry, though! Mohamed Salah is on top of it.
Minutes after conceding to Burnley, Salah received a long ball from midfield right on the edge of the box. He worked his way around two Burnley defenders until he got a small gap to line up a shot. He hit his shot low and fast, and the visiting goalkeeper could do nothing about it.
It was a gorgeous maneuver and a tidy goal, and it was exactly what Liverpool needed. Now we just need, like, four or five more of these. If it’s not too much trouble.
