Friends, it’s a cold Wednesday night and we’re in Stoke. Get it all out of your system.
Thankfully, Liverpool are holding their own against hosts Stoke City. And now the Reds are out in front within the first 20 minutes.
With Stoke’s back line caught out and scrambling to deal with Liverpool’s attack, Dominic Solanke got the ball in the box with two opposition defenders flanking him. Solanke hit a backpass behind his markers, teeing up Sadio Mane to latch onto it and get one-on-one with the keeper. He finished with a fun chip that took an extra second or so to trickle over the line.
Liverpool are up 1-0 early in the first half. Not a bad start.
