Jeez, finally!
After more than an hour of beating their heads against Chelsea’s wall— and trying to repel attacks from the visitors themselves— Liverpool finally managed to take the lead in the 65th minute.
Mohamed Salah— of COURSE it was Salah— found a narrow, winding path into the box through Chelsea’s back line. He managed to pick up the ball, evading the gaze and the boots of the opposition, and squeezed his way into the box with defenders trailing in his wake.
From close range, the finish was simple and assured.
Liverpool are up 1-0 with less than 20 minutes left in the game. This could be just the thing we needed.
