Liverpool are out for blood today.
Mere minutes after kickoff and with fans still shuffling to their seats, the Reds grabbed an early lead in their crucial Champions League tie with Sevilla.
Liverpool won a corner kick in the second minute and was taken by Philippe Coutinho. The ball was sent in and redirected to the far post with a glancing header. Roberto Firmino slipped away from the pack to pounce on the ball, hitting a clean and low finish that tucked just inside the post and out of the keeper’s reach.
The good guys are up 1-0, and while there’s a lot of football left to play, Liverpool fans could scarcely have imagined a better start.
