See, this is the Liverpool I love. (And have missed.)
Liverpool have now scored three goals in the opening 20 minutes of their Champions League game with Maribor. And they might not be done!
After scoring two early goals, Liverpool seemed to be looking to run up the score and bury the opposition. Just six minutes after Philippe Coutinho doubled the Reds’ lead, the visitors led another counterattacking charge right at Maribor’s goal. This time, Roberto Firmino sent a pretty throughball into the box that found Mohamed Salah lurking, waiting. With the ball at his feet, he hit it sharp and low past the keeper and inside the far post.
3-0 Liverpool.
This is already one of those games where they’re scoring goals faster than I can post them! (Not that I’m complaining, mind.)
