I’m serious. I know he’s capable of hitting absolutely incredible goals. I’ve seen him unleash some absolute belters. I know this is in his toolchest. But every time he does something like this I just... I can’t reconcile it. Like, something this pure, this awe-inspiring, it almost doesn’t belong in the same universe I live in.
I don’t know even know what to say about this.
What I can tell you is that Couts hit this absolute screamer just before the half-hour mark in Liverpool’s match with Newcastle. He weaved and bobbed in an attempt to shake his defender before trying his luck from... 25 yards? Maybe 30?
What I can also tell you is that the ball sailed into the back of the net and St. James’ Stadium was left in stunned silence. (So was I, to be quite honest.)
