Christian Benteke is no longer a Liverpool player after finalizing a transfer to Crystal Palace over the weekend.
But that was just the beginning of the striker’s adventures this weekend. After the move, whoever runs his Twitter account couldn’t tell one mid-table Premier League team from another and listed Benteke’s current club as Burnley.

After the Twitter flub, Benteke sent out an apology tweet clarifying the situation. It wasn’t his fault, as the all say. It was the person he lets do all of his tweeting. You had one job, personal tweeter! One job!
Oops my bad lol Yes I signed for cpfc and not burnley. Sorry for the little mistake the person that manages my Twitter got a little confused

Nevertheless, Benteke has left Liverpool after a disappointing season. He did have some nice words to say about Liverpool and their supporters upon his departure. Here’s his farewell statement:

It had to be a long and frustrating season for him. It’s nice to see him stay classy while leaving the club. Hopefully he finds success in the future.
