Liverpool today announced the club had signed a major branding partnership deal with PES 2017 maker Konami Digital that will see the club officially appear in the upcoming edition of the football video game.
In the past, lacking an official license, Liverpool were always referred to as the Merseyside Reds. This time out they will be Liverpool. The players will be wearing their proper kits. A new and expanded Anfield will be in the game in all its towering glory. You’ll Never Walk Alone will be included in its entirety.

There was also talk by both Liverpool and Konami of Liverpool club legends somehow being involved in this year’s edition of the game, though as yet details on that front remain sparse.

For Liverpool fans who may have soured on FIFA’s yearly update, this now helps to bring PES back to the table as a legitimate option this season.
That, of course, includes the incredible likenesses, Player ID and team styles we're known for. #Gegenpress #PES2017 pic.twitter.com/HufJmVDleL
