Here in America we're known for our amazing culture and great food. We're not the greatest footballing nation or the best at education. Both of those weak points were on display Saturday night in California.
During the LA Galaxy's rivalry match the San Jose Earthquakes, former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard was in the starting lineup like any other normal match. However, a few minutes into the match it became apparent that whoever put together his team's kits had an off night:
I'm pretty sure that's not how you spell Gerrard. That's...oof...
Nevertheless, the ultimate professional, Stevie G. didn't let the kit person's horrible error affect his play on the field. While his side drew 1-1 with San Jose, it was G-E-R-R-A-R-D who provided the assist on the Galaxy's only goal of the match:
His inch-perfect cross found the head of Giovani Dos Santos for a great goal. It was his 5th assist of the season.
If this is your first exposure to the United States' top flight, don't judge it on this display of poor grammar.
