Back in October is was announced that Liverpool youngster, Joe Gomez, would miss the rest of the season following a knee injury picked up while on international duty with the England U-21's. Five months after his initial diagnosis of a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), he's lacing up his boots and getting back on the pitch for some light work, according to this Instagram post from Wednesday:
The 18-year-old has only spent the better part of two months in the Liverpool squad after joining the club in the summer from Charlton Athletic. He's only appeared five times during that span but by all accounts, Gomez was very promising during his brief playing time before the knee injury sidelined him.
Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp hope to have him fully fit for preseason in July. He should be a big boost to the club's depth along the back line next season. His ability to play all across the back four would be invaluable to have.
