You’ve probably watched Dejan Lovren’s late, stoppage time winner against Borussia Dortmund a few dozen times by now. As much fun as it is to watch, though, nothing quite beats hearing the club’s radio call of a big goal, with the partisan commentators free to get as excited as they’d like.
In the case of Liverpool legend John Aldridge, co-commentator for the club’s radio broadcasts, as excited as he’d like to get is very. Most Liverpool fans will understand. After all, most of them were making similarly wild noises when Lovren headed home from James Milner’s inch-perfect cross in the 91st minute.

So. That happened. As for us, we’re still rather buzzing, and might be for a couple of days now, though there’s the small matter of a game against Bournemouth on Sunday in the Premier League. Not to mention the draw on Friday to find out who Liverpool will face now that they’re through to the Europa League semi-finals.
Defending champions Sevilla are one team left, along with fellow Spaniards Villarreal and Ukraine’s Shakhtar Donetsk. And after a night like Liverpool’s against Dortmund, one imagines most Liverpool fans will be feeling confident no matter who the team draws.
