Liverpool drew Plymouth Argyle or Newport County in the third round of the FA Cup last night. Most Reds fans know that. What they may not know is that Steven Gerrard was involved in the draw, picking Liverpool’s name out of the pot.
He also breathed a quite visible sigh of relief when they drew their opponent—a plucky League Two minnow, either way, and a team that will certainly relish their trip to Anfield in search of a magical upset but who will be very much unfavoured.
He then quipped that perhaps he had earned a coaching job at Liverpool with that draw, which only sounds fair. Unless Plymouth or Newport somehow do pull the upset, that is.
That #FACup third-round draw will get Gerrard in Klopp's good books...https://t.co/SUGbmO4EOo #bbcfacup https://t.co/WK6h5MZwfY
