Liverpool have done it! After 90-plus minutes of back and forth mediocrity, the Reds have stunned their Merseyside counterparts at Goodison Park in the 95th minute.
Eight minutes of second half stoppage time were given by the officials and Liverpool took advantage of it when Sadio Mane pounced on a rebound to tap-in the match’s only goal to clinch the three points for his side:
Daniel Sturridge’s low shot bounced off the post and fell right to the oncoming Mane for the easy tap-in. A bit of fortune, no doubt, but Liverpool won’t complain as this will be a huge three points to keep pace with Chelsea in the title race.
