The Internet reacts to James Milner's hilarious free kick

By all accounts James Milner has gotten off to a great start to his Liverpool career. His work rate and selflessness has won him many supporters just two matches in the Premier League season. Even with his good performances so far, we have stop and poke a little fun at a hilarious moment from Monday night's win over Bournemouth.

With Liverpool protecting a 1-0 lead in second half stoppage time, the team had a dangerous free kick just outside the penalty area. Milner, Emre Can, and Christian Benteke all stood over the ball ready to attempt a rehearsed free kick routine.

The idea for this trickery was brilliant. The execution however, was...not:

Yikes. It was not the most shining moment in James Milner's career. And predictably, the internet responded with some jokes:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-cards="hidden" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Classic James Milner, signing of this summer imo. <a href="https://t.co/mqCwMPDEui">https://t.co/mqCwMPDEui</a></p>&mdash; Wicky (@Wicknes007) <a href="https://twitter.com/Wicknes007/status/633382469526417408">August 17, 2015</a></blockquote>

When a moment like this happens in a football match the jokes will inevitably start flying. Let's just remember that the only things on the night that matter are three points gained and that Milner had a really good overall performance.
