Emre Can's individual highlight reel vs. Sunderland shows how influential he can be

He's still only 21 years old...

Liverpool were able to escape the Stadium of Light with a narrow 1-0 victory over lowly Sunderland on Wednesday evening. Christian Benteke scored the winner just 20 seconds into the second half and the Reds were able to make the lone goal stand and come out with the three points. It's debatable who the honor for best individual performance should go to on the night.

Emre Can made a very strong case for himself with his composed and commanding play in the middle of the park all night long. This individual highlight reel shows that he's becoming one of the most complete players in the squad. At only 21 years of age, the midfielder hasn't even approached the prime of his career yet and is already raising eyebrows around the footballing world. Barring injury or an unexpected decline in form, the German could evolve into a truly special player in the next few years of his career.

As this video shows, he was a vital cog in Jurgen Klopp's machine and played a vital part in the victory over the Black Cats.
