Like those still with the senior squad, Liverpool's loanees will have most of the next two weeks off from duties with their temporary clubs; those not selected for international duty will obviously stick around to train and/or recover, and hopefully both they and Liverpool will hit the ground running as they enter the final stretch before the new year rolls around.
Lille continued their slide down the Ligue One table with a 2-0 loss to Stade de Reims on Sunday evening, and Divock Origi found his influence limited once again as the French side lost their second match of the week after falling 3-0 at Goodison Park in the Europa League. Origi featured for 72 minutes to little effect as part of an underwhelming Lille attack; after starting the season so brightly, Lille are now languishing in 14th, just four points off the drop zone after a terrible October and poor start to November. Origi will join Belgium for their qualifier against Wales next Sunday. Tiago Ilori, on loan with Bordeaux, is still injured and missed out again for their 2-1 win over Lens.
Better news over in Spain for Luis Alberto's Malaga side, as the midfielder finally made his way back into the squad during their 2-1 win against Eibar. Alberto came on with just over ten minutes to play and the score level at 1-1, and was on the pitch for Nordin Amrabat's 89th minute winner from the spot. It was the 22-year-old's first appearance since late September, and hopefully signals a return to regular match action going forward. Elsewhere in Spain, Iago Aspas was on the bench for the entirety of Sevilla's 1-1 draw with Levante, while in Italy Rafa Paez is reportedly healthy but was left out of the squad for the 0-0 draw at home to Carpi.
Back in England it was tough luck for Andre Wisdom's West Brom, who fell 2-0 against a streaking Newcastle side. Wisdom played all 90 minutes at right-back and fluffed a great chance to pull one back for the hosts, but it wasn't to be as the Baggies slipped to their first home loss in two months. Oussama Assaidi was left out of the Stoke City squad that defeated Spurs 2-1 at White Hart Lane, while Sebastian Coates is still injured for Sunderland. But he had a baby, so that's better than playing for Sunderland, even if they did manage a draw against Everton.
In the Championship there were minutes for Jordon Ibe in Derby County's resounding 5-0 win over Wolves; the winger came on after all the scoring was done but still registered a shot as Steve McLaren's side went top of the league. On Wednesday the 18-year-old scored a terrific goal in a 3-2 win over Huddersfield Town. At the other end of the table Joao Teixeira was on the bench but didn't see any action for Brighton as they drew 1-1 with Blackburn. The midfielder played 90 minutes midweek in a 1-0 win against Wigan, Brighton's first in 12 matches.
Ibe's goal, for those who didn't catch it the first time around (move starts around :20):
