Liverpool player Ben Woodburn, who impressed Reds’ fans last season and over the summer, recently completed a year-long loan to Hearts FC. The 21-year-old midfielder will be a good addition to the Scottish side, and Hearts sporting director Joe Savage recognizes that.

After Woodburn’s temporary move was complete, Savage has plenty of good things to say about the player and how someone of his quality fits into the club’s transfer strategy.

“Everyone is delighted to get Ben on board for the season, and I’d like to thank Liverpool for their help in getting this deal done. Ben’s development has been in an environment where he was surrounded by world-class football players, so to have him here at Hearts is very exciting,” Savage said to the official site.

Manager Robbie Neilson was similarly complimentary: “He’s an exciting player, one who I think will fit really well into our style of play. He’s quick, direct and can bring us different options in the final third. I’m looking forward to working with him and I hope that he will be a success here at Hearts.”

Hopefully the first team experience helps move along Woodburn’s development. Liverpool fans would love to see him eventually earn a place with the Reds in the future.
