Xherdan Shaqiri is one step closer to making his Liverpool FC. Despite his initial proclamations about Lazio’s interest, it seems that Shaqiri will not be making his way to the eternal city. L’equipe is reporting that Shaqiri’s representatives and Olympique Lyonnais have come to an agreement over his personal terms.
Confirmed. Personal terms already agreed btw #OL And #Shaqiri camp as per @lequipe. https://t.co/Oa3ejtkyHc

Shaqiri will reportedly earn just under €90,000 per week for three years at Lyon, as the club’s replacement for the creativity and goals of Memphis Depay, who departed for Barcelona on a free this summer.

OL are offering €6m with add-ons, Liverpool want more. No agreement yet. Talks ongoing.
All that is left now is between the two clubs is the issue of his transfer fee. Liverpool reportedly valued Shaqiri at around £13m. Lyon’s initial bid was said to be £3.4m. The Reds have rejected this and Lyon has returned with a second offer of €6m with add-ons for him. A number that edges closer to 10 should probably seal the deal and send the Power Cube to his next adventure, where he’ll probably cause Messi some misery again.
