Liverpool’s Asking Price for Shaqiri is Surprisingly Low

€10m or lower is the word on the street.

More movement today on potential exits from Liverpool FC, this time it’s Xherdan Shaqiri. Sport 1 journalist Florian Plettenberg claims the club’s asking price for the Power Cube is “below €10m”. He also adds that the player could seek a return to Germany, despite having already expressed an interest in signing for Serie A outfit Lazio earlier this week.

Shaqiri (as usual) had a pretty good international tournament so it’s pretty surprising that Liverpool would accept such a low fee for him. He does only have a year left on his contract so maybe that’s the reason for the low fee, but Liverpool reportedly has the option to extend his deal by another year.

Goal’s Neil Jones had previously reported that the club would be looking to receive a fee in the region of £15m for the Swiss international’s services, which seems like a much more realistic figure for a man of Big Shaq’s talents.
