Rumour Mongering: Liverpool Propose Grujic Swap for Porto’s Otávio

In the most predicable development in the history of rumour mongering, Portuguese outlets are proposing a swap.

Since the end of the season, FC Porto have been rumoured to want Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic on a permanent deal after a successful season at the Portuguese club but it’s been said they don’t have the funds it would take to get a deal done.

Then, over the past few days, Portuguese outlets began to claim that Liverpool would quite like to sign the 26-year-old Brazilian midfielder Otávio Edmilson from FC Porto before his release clause jumps from €40M all the way to €60M on July 1st.

Today, in quite possibly the most predictable development ever in the history of rumour mongering, Portuguese outlets are claiming Liverpool have offered Porto a fee of €23M along with one Marko Grujic in exchange for one Otávio Edmilson.

According to the A Bola, who seem to link a few players in Portugal with the Reds for high fees every summer only for the deals to never actually come off, that’s the current state of things with Liverpool pushing for a part-swap and Porto resistant.

It’s said Porto want to do both deals keep them separate for reasons that aren’t especially clear. In any case, we should know in a few days if there’s anything to it. Or we’ll hit July 1st and A Bola will figure out a twist to keep the story going.
