There could be a number of outgoing squad members this summer to make way for fresh faces.

There has been plenty of discussion recently on players featuring on Liverpool’s radar, which include Ibrahima Konate of RB Leipzig. We will probably see activity in the other direction as well for fringe players, to make way for the new reinforcements.

According to James Pearce of The Athletic, Jurgen Klopp says that he wants to make “little readjustments” to his squad rather than overseeing a major overhaul. Financing the incoming players could see offers entertained for players like Divock Origi, Pearce notes.

Another name on Pearce’s list of potential ‘outs’ is fan-favourite Xherdan Shaqiri. Shaqiri and Origi have made 13 starts between them this season. Harry Wilson, Sheyi Ojo, Loris Karius and Ben Woodburn may also see permanent moves away from the Reds. Marko Grujic who is currently on loan at FC Porto is not likely to return either.

The website This Is Anfield reminds us that Adrian will leave on the expiry of his contract, as will Yasser Larouci.

On priority for Liverpool, Pearce says, are the contract renewals of key first team players Mohamed Salah, Virgil Van Dijk and Fabinho. The latter two have not been associated with rumors of a move away from Liverpool, but regarding Salah, Pearce writes:

“But if Salah, who is currently level with Harry Kane in the chase for the Premier League golden boot on 17 goals, is going to stay, then his contract situation does need to be addressed. Otherwise, it will continue to be an unwanted distraction.”
