I know, I know. You’re thinking it. I’m thinking it. We’re all thinking it. We’ve looked at the current state of the Liverpool squad and said to ourselves, “The one thing we really need for next season is more injury-prone players.” And I bet some of you are yelling at whatever device you’re reading this on: “But only if he’s 30-years-old!”
Well, have no fear! Because according to Italian reports, Liverpool are looking to replace the steadfast Gini Wijnaldum for former Arsenal man Aaron Ramsey.
The unquestionably talented Welshman has dealt with a career plagued persistent and chronic injuries. A move to Serie A and Juventus unfortunately didn’t change that fact. In fact, he has most recently been ruled out of playing for Wales during this international break due to a thigh injury.
Nevertheless, the rumour says that the Reds are looking to bring Ramsey back to England, weighing his Premier League experience over any potential health issues.
Liverpool aren’t the only English team who may go after Ramsey. A return to Arsenal has been suggested, as well as West Ham.
Ramsey’s future in Italy is unclear, but this seems like an unlikely move for Klopp and the transfer committee to consider.
