Jurgen Klopp is ‘in love’ with Ousmane Dembele, at least according to the Spanish media. Mundo Deportivo is reporting that the Liverpool manager is desperate to bring Dembele to Liverpool next year.
The Barcelona forward has been out with a knee injury this season, but the 24-year-old is only contracted at the Camp Nou until next summer. Dembele arrived in Barcelona from Borussia Dortmund with much fanfare in 2017, but has yet to sign an extension. This has lead to plenty of speculation over where he’ll end up.
And if the reports are to be believed, Liverpool is already drafting an offer and hope to get him on a pre-contract by the end of next month. The reason for the urgency is said to be Klopp’s appreciation for the Frenchman and his desire to bring him to Merseyside.
Of course, with a player of Dembele’s caliber, there will be plenty of competition. Indeed, Manchester United and Manchester City, along with plenty of other clubs across Europe are all interested if it does look like he’s really headed out the door.
With his contract expiring, January will be Barcelona’s last chance to make a profit off of his sale.
