Mohamed Salah “Very Happy” at Liverpool Despite Real Madrid Links

Liverpool teammate Fabinho says the Egyptian superstar is happy and transfer rumours are just part of football.

There will always be rumours. It’s a fact of life in football and not worth worrying about. At least that was Liverpool midfielder Fabinho’s message when asked about chatter earlier in the year about Real Madrid interest in Mohamed Salah.

“Big players will always have their names involved in rumours,” Fabinho told Sky Sports this week. “Salah plays for Liverpool, one of the biggest teams in the world, so I think it’s normal to see his name linked to other teams from different leagues.

“I see him very happy here and pleased with his performances this season. He’s very demanding with himself, he wants to be the best, he wants to help the team and works hard for it. It’s always been the case and it hasn’t changed at all.”

Transfer rumours are, in fact, part of life in football. Sometimes they reflect actual interest, sometimes they’re a part of contract negotiations as a player looks for a better deal from his club, and sometimes they’re just papers filling space.

In the end, then, it probably is best to pay them as little mind as possible, even if that can be easier said than done. And in the end, what matters most for Salah’s fans and teammates right now isn’t his future but his performances in the present.

“He keeps scoring goals, which everyone is used to seeing,” Fabinho added. “In the changing room he’s always talking to everyone and making jokes. I don’t see anything affecting him.”
