After months of speculation from German journalists such as Christian Falk and Tobias Altschäffl, it’s finally happened. Liverpool have begun negotiations with Bayern Munich for the transfer of Thiago Alcantara. The Merseyside Press Corps have all more or less confirmed the transfer, with the club-connected journalists more or less all confirming that the club is confident of finalising a deal with a fee of 27 million pounds/30 million euros. It’s the figure that the German journalists have been floating about for a while now, so it should be a fairly straightforward negotiation.

The 29-year old Spanish International will bring his many talents, namely world-class dribbling and deep passing to Merseyside soon. It would seem that common sense and a mutual desire from Thiago and Klopp to work with each other just made too much sense. Personally I can’t wait to see him ping a deep ball towards Mane or Salah already. It really can’t be stated enough. It’s a great time to be a Liverpool fan. Drink it in, boys. We’ll be watching for the Melwood lean.
