Ever sine the transfer window opened in the summer, there have been rumours that Rhian Brewster could end up at Sheffield United on loan as last season’s surprise side look to add goals to an attack that has at times struggled to find them.
Briefly, the loan talk was overtaken by rumours of a potential sale—but a loan remains the most likely outcome when it comes to Brewster this season, and Sheffield United remain a highly appealing option no matter who else is said to be interested.
The latest update comes via The Athletic, with reports from the Sheffield end that despite Liverpool delaying a final decision, the club still see the 20-year-old Brewster as a top target and that signing him on loan this month remains the goal.
The other most frequently discussed option for Brewster this week appears to be Crystal Palace, and some reports have even claimed that to be Brewster’s preferred destination as the player grew up in London and got his start in Chelsea’s academy.
However, from a pure footballing standpoint Sheffield United appear the better fit. No matter where he ends up, though, and be it on loan or permanently, the Reds are expected to give him a start next week’s Carabao Cup tie first.
