Liverpool have made their first signing of the 2020 summer transfer window, bringing in the 24-year-old left back Kostas Tsimikas from Olympiacos, and we now know that the Greek international will wear the number 21 for his new club.

It’s the same shirt number Tsimikas wore during his time in Greece—as well as being the same number he wore while spending a year on loan with Willem II in the Eredivisie, where Liverpool’s scouts first noticed the player while monitoring loanee Pedro Chirivella.

With Tsimikas’ signing now secured, the Reds will be expected to move on to filling their two other main needs this offseason: a backup centre half to replace the departed Dejan Lovren and a young attacker capable of backing up Sadio Mané and Mohamed Salah.

Barring an unexpected departure elsewhere in the squad or perhaps the signing of a young talent for the future, it is unlikely that Liverpool will be looking to make any significant transfers this summer once the needs for a centre half and an attacker are addressed.
