Rumor Mongering: Real Madrid Planning £188M Bid for Salah Next Summer

The report claims the Egyptian King might be open to a big-money move if the Reds fail to win a major trophy this year.

“Is this a bad time to talk about coming Real Madrid?”

Honestly, I’m surprised it took this long into the international break for something like this to come up. According to frequent rumor mongers Don Balon, Real Madrid are looking to add another galactico to their roster, staring with our very own Mohamed Salah.

After an astounding 12 league losses last year, a Round of 16 exit to Ajax in the Champions League, and a slow start this year (just 5 points from the opening 3 matches), it is becoming clear that Real Madrid are in need of a rebuilding.

Their solution, apparently, is to offer €210 million (~£188 million) for Liverpool’s Egyptian King. According to the (for lack of a better word) “report” from the Spanish publication, Mo would be willing to leave if the Reds fail to win the Premier League or Champions League this season.

This of course presumes that £188 million would be enough to force Liverpool to sell the two-time Premier League golden boot winner, who is in the prime of his career, and who is under contract until 2023. I mean, did y’all see what we did to Barcelona when they came in for Philippe Coutinho?

Regardless, Real Madrid love their stars, and it’s hard to find a brighter star (that isn’t slowly fading and/or playing for a direct rival) in world football than Mo Salah. They are reportedly also interested in Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappé (#Mbappe2020?), but apparently feel that Salah would be the “easiest” move to pull off.

I guess they haven’t heard of laptop wizard Michael Edwards yet.

Anyway, it’s a rumor from an unreliable source, bordering on “your rumor is bullshit” territory. I guess the easiest solution is just to keep winning big things and let Fowler sort the rest out.
