Young Liverpool attacker Ryan Kent is set to spend another year on loan in Scotland playing under Steven Gerrard at Rangers, according to the Echo.
Kent, the 22-year-old who was voted PFA Scottish Young Player of the Year, has reportedly garnered interest from several clubs, including newly promoted Aston Villa. However, Gerrard is keen to keep the player at Ibrox for another season, and he seems to to have the upper hand in the loan battle.
Kent scored six goals and picked up nine assists last season, a healthy tally for the attacker. When asked about the prospect of re-signing him for another year, Gerrard said, “For our supporters, what I can do is guarantee that I’m doing everything I can to get him in for another season. We’ve spoken to Liverpool , we’re in touch with Ryan’s representatives and we’ve made an offer.”
While it would be good to see Kent get some Premier League experience, he’s clearly been doing well at Rangers, so hopefully another loan spell there will continue to benefit his development over the long term.
