We’re always going to have rumours that are clearly out of the realm of reality, but it’s really nice to lay one to rest definitively. Borussia Monchengladbach’s Thorgan Hazard has been linked with the Reds before (and we’ve dealt with the rumours with some skepticism), but the persistent connections to the club just wouldn’t die down.
The rumours were getting pretty heated for a while, too, with Gladbach’s sporting director casually mentioning Liverpool as he talked about Hazard leaving, and the Reds almost constantly being touted as Dortmund’s rival in their quest to sign the 26-year-old.
Of course, that was until today when Hazard the Younger came out and explicitly confirmed that he has a personal agreement with Borussia Dortmund and has never had any conversations at all with the Reds.
Thorgan Hazard also added that it’s the only club that he’s talked too. Liverpool has never been on his mind - and club have always denied that they were interested. #lfc

Unless something changes drastically over the next couple of months, it does seem unlikely that Liverpool will be looking for a forward of Hazard’s calibre and age to back up the front three they are currently fielding.
Liverpool will likely sign a younger striker in the summer (Timo Werner or Nicolas Pepe, anyone?) to bolster our attacking power, but Thorgan Hazard is definitely not going to be that signing.
