Can we please have real football again? Please? Due to the magnitude of the remaining games this season, this international break seems to be dragging on longer than usual. That the rumor mongers have been out in full force isn’t helping matters!
The latest on the rumor mill is that Leicester City leftback Ben Chilwell might be on the move this summer. Or not, because he’s part of Leicester’s long term plans. Or if he is, he’ll cost at least £75 million. Right, clear as mud. Of course, all the usual names are linked: Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester City.
Virgil van Dijk money for a leftback when we already have Andy Robertson? What are they smoking down at the King Power Stadium? It’s even hard to see Manchester City spending that much with Benjamin Mendy on the books.
Now, Liverpool might be in the market for a back-up to Robbo, especially with the departing Alberto Moreno, but it seems highly unlikely that they’d make Chilwell their premium buy of the summer.
And seriously, can we please get back to real football yet?
