In recent seasons, we have seen some of the best transfer deals for Liverpool come seemingly out of the blue. Well, while Takumi Minamino might have been on many holiday wish lists, there was nothing concrete. Until now, with multiple club-connected journalists reporting that the Reds are close to landing 24-year-old Japanese midfielder.
Not only are multiple reliable sources breaking the news all at once, but they’re all on the same point about the incredible price: a mere £7.25 million release clause for a player who would likely demand a much higher fee otherwise.
Understand it's highly likely that Minamino joins Liverpool in January. Expect it to happen. Exciting deal. #LFC

James Pearce, whose favorite past time is brutally shooting down transfer rumors, is telling us all to “expect it to happen.” So. Expect this to happen.
Minamino impressed against Liverpool—especially during the Anfield leg, where he scored a peach of a goal on the half-volley. He has a combined 7 goals and 3 assists across Austrian Bundesliga and Champions League play so far this season.
Other clubs are reportedly interested, including Manchester United (unluckyyyy), but it appears as if Michael Edwards and his laptop warriors have stolen a march on the rest of Europe. Again.
