Following the early termination of Ovie Ejaria’s loan to Steven Gerrard’s Rangers, the Liverpool Academy player has secured another loan out to Championship team Reading for the remainder of this season. Ejaria’s Scottish stay was cut short in December for personal reasons. We don’t know the specifics, but the rumour at the time was that the 21-year-old failed to settle in Scotland.

Ejaria made 28 appearances for Rangers and scored two goals before returning to Merseyside. The hope now is that he will gain some much needed playing time for Reading in the second half of the season.

Ejaria has made eight appearances for the Reds in his career, and there had been optimism about his development early on. A series of underwhelming loan moves have dimmed his star somewhat, but will any luck, this newest move will prove a good fit.

Either way, Ejaria will return to Melwood in the summer.
