Danny Ings has reportedly been left out of training for Liverpool as the striker hopes to complete a late move to Southampton before the close of the transfer window for Premier League sides at 5PM BST today.
Earlier in the day, his potential move to Crystal Palace broke down after the London club turned to Jordan Ayew on loan with Liverpool unwilling to move off their £20M asking price for the oft-injured Ings.
That left just Southampton in the running, and there have been reports that they may just be desperate enough to pay Liverpool’s asking price before the window closes. However, time is running out.
With just about an hour left to run in the window, there has been little to suggest Saints are ready to pay—and Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp is happy to keep Ings around if the asking price isn’t met.
Still, that the player was given the day off training does show that Liverpool are willing to deal if Southampton come through with a very late bid for the 26-year-old Englishman.
