When young Reds star Harry Wilson was awarded a long-term Liverpool contract this summer, fans had hoped that they’d get to see the 21-year-old continue his career at Anfield this season. It doesn’t look like that’s in the cards, as Klopp has admitted that Wilson was left out of Saturday’s match against Bury because another loan move is imminent.

Wilson impressed in the latter half of last season when he went on loan to Championship side Hull City and scored seven goals between January and May. He has also impressed in Liverpool’s first two pre-season games.

He scored a brace in the first half of Liverpool’s opening pre-season friendly against Chester City, and then held his own in a shaky second half for the Reds against Tranmere Rovers.

About Wilson, Klopp said, “Harry has a lot of interest in him from different clubs, so no risk now. Playing with a little bit tired legs during the game, that makes no sense. So Harry has a little session at home.”

It sounds as though the Tranmere game may be the last one for Liverpool that Wilson plays this season. He’s likely off to another Championship side, where hopefully he continues to get ample playing time, plays well and proves himself.
