Many a transfer window has passed in recent years that left little fanfare down at Melwood. But thankfully, Liverpool have been enjoying a renaissance under Jürgen Klopp and FSG that has been blossoming of late. Exciting football players are again looking at Liverpool with stars in their eyes.
Klopp’s focus for transfers into his squad is quallity. The manager builds his squad up in training, inserting young players here and there to test their ability, but prefers to identify only two or three high-caliber and expensive first-team players to add to his finely crafted mix.
Fabinho has already signed up from AS Monaco, a very talented defensive midfielder who has received plenty of accolades for his ability to break up play as well as spring an attack. Next on the list for Klopp has been Lyon’s captain, Nabil Fekir.
Fekir has reportedly voiced his desire to join Liverpool this summer. And Michael Edwards has been dispatched on a mission to secure the French attacking midfielder before the start of the World Cup.
If you’ve been keeping up to speed on the drama so far you’ll know that Lyon’s president is doing his best to drag this saga on beyond the summer tournament in the hopes of seeing Fekir’s value rise following a good showing in Russia. So this little bit of news on social media is a welcome harbinger of glee.
