Here’s how this works, Liverpool are interested in signing a dynamic attacking midfielder this summer, maybe even two, and now the rumour mongering world at large will toss out every available midfielder there is and slap “Liverpool” into the headline. “Liverpool Are Keen On So-And-So If Literally Every Single One Of Their Preferred Targets Turns Them Down.” Enter Benfica’s Anderson Talisca who has been on-loan with Besiktas in Turkey this passed season and is waiting on Michael Edwards to show up in Portugal with a handshake and £35M.

Jürgen Klopp’s top attacking midfielder target is Nabil Fekir. The Fekir business is expected to kick into high gear next week when Liverpool send a formal bid to Lyon. In addition to Fekir, there’s also been talk of Liverpool returning to Monaco for Thomas Lemar. Klopp could use plenty of extra midfield dynamism considering he’s already been low in numbers in that area, Emre Can is leaving for Juventus, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is ruled out for a sizeable chunk of next season through injury.

Anderson Talisca will be a mystery to most supporters who don’t keep an eye on the Turkish league. The Brazilian scored fourteen goals last campaign and has been previously been linked to Manchester United, Wolverhampton and Juventus. That’s quite a trio of interest but also a trio of interest that has cooled significantly.

AS Roma have also recently entered the conversation for Talisca’s signature but Record in Portugal are claiming that Liverpool are in the pole position for the player and are a “concrete proposal” away from getting their man. It’s a bold come-and-get-me plea from a player’s agent trying to drum up business.

Talisca may be a promising target for Klopp or the Liverpool scouts and if that’s the case, so be it, welcome. But onward to Fekir, please.
