Papa Pulisic Says No Deal Yet for Dortmund Star

It’s no secret that many clubs are sniffing around American teenage sensation Christian Pulisic (as was the case for the last several transfer windows). And of course, the media is only too happy to spread lies—intentional or otherwise—about anyone guaranteed to generate a few more clicks.

Presumably tired of the endless links to numerous clubs, Mark Pulisic, Christian’s father, spoke out about the current situation on Sky Sports.

“He was linked to Tottenham. Last week it was Liverpool. The week before Man United. The week before this - it’s hogwash,” Pulisic senior said in the interview.

“He’s linked with a different club every week. I have no idea. His agent right now is working and looking, in close relation with me and Christian, and we’re just trying to see what the best phase of his next development will be.

“Now is the time that the season has just ended that we’ll sit down with Dortmund, we’ll sit down with, I don’t know whether others clubs are in the mix, [and see what] Dortmund’s idea is and their plans for Christian.

“But there’s nothing concrete. Right now, Christian plays for Dortmund and that’s where he is planning on playing again next year.”

Hogwash! Strong fucking words there, Mark.

So, basically Pulisic junior continues at Dortmund next year, unless he changes his mind. Clear as mud.

The easiest way to interpret these comments is as a ham-fisted (damn, now you have me using pork-inspired lingo) attempt to kick-off a bidding war for his son’s services.

Other than that, not much to really report here. Liverpool remain most strongly linked to Nabil Fekir or (and?!) Thomas Lemar. Or, perhaps another completely out of the blue signing.
