Our favorite Spanish publication, Don Balon, is back at it, this time spinning a tale about how Lionel Messi really wants Mohamed Salah to continue his collection of boss former Liverpool players.
Listen, I’m a wee bit hungover in Edinburgh this morning, so I can’t tell you that I was fully able to fully follow Don Balon’s conspiracy yarn, but it has something to do with Inter Milan, Rafinha, and who really gives a fuck? But if A does not equal B, and B does not equal C, then somehow Mo Salah to Barca becomes a thing.
Of course, you can understand why any top, top player, including Lionel Messi, would want to play with the future 2018 Ballon d’Or winner.
But entering the summer window—one which will be shortened by the World Cup and the Premier League’s new cut-off date prior to the start of the season—Jürgen Klopp and Liverpool have remained confident that the star Egyptian will remain on Merseyside for at least one more season.
Sorry Leo, but you can’t always get what you want. You’ll just have to watch your new infatuation play in the Champions League final without you.
