Rumour Mongering: Sessegnon Ready to Snub Tottenahm for Liverpool

According to the tabloids, the starlet now sees his future at Anfield—if Fulham don’t get promoted.

If Fulham fail to earn promotion from the Championship this season—and they currently stand fourth, in line for the playoffs but five back of automatic qualification—then 17-year-old wide star Ryan Sessegnon has decided he wants to move to Liverpool.

So claim The Express, who bill their information an exclusive and claim that Sessegnon has decided Liverpool and not Tottenham is the place for him to develop into a star after last summer appearing to favour Spurs before re-signing with Fulham.

Another year of developing at Fulham, though, means he believes that this summer he’s ready to take on the Premier League one way or another—be it with Fulham if they gain promotion or with some other club if they don’t make it the cut this season.

And, having watched Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez both play significant minutes in the league and Europe this season, he now believes Liverpool and Jürgen Klopp would offer him a better chance at proving his minutes than Spurs.

Or at least that’s what The Express think. Realistically, though, even if their information is accurate and based on Sessegnon’s actual intentions, there are still too many variables and too much time to go until summer to count this as anything like a done deal.

Sessegnon has played at both left back and—increasingly over his two first team seasons with Fulham—as a wide midfielder. This season he has scored 14 goals and four assists in 36 appearances, good for a goal involvement every 178.5 minutes.
