Emre Can Signing a “Coup” for Juvetnus

Italian agent Federico Pastorello says landing Can is a coup for the Serie A giants—if they’ve signed him.

Emre Can hasn’t signed a Juventus pre-contract despite that he’s been free to do so since the first of January, and that’s left many Liverpool fans with renewed hope that the club might just have found a way to hold on to the 24-year-old German international.

That hope, though, might not last much longer if agent Federico Pastorello has any real insight into the situation—that is, if he isn’t just going off of the talk in recent weeks and months in the Italian press of Can to Juventus being a presumed done deal.

“Emre Can is a huge coup, even more so because he’ll arrive on a free,” Pastorello, who represents a handful of high profile players including Nani and Kevin-Prince Boateng, said. “Juventus attract champions, and important signals are coming from the German.”

As for what those signals might be, as recently as last month Can said he hadn’t signed anything yet or fully decided on his future, and since then there has been no change in the player’s stance—or at least no change that’s made it to the press.

If it is insight, either based on contacts on the Juventus end or with Can’s representatives, it should at least mean the Can’s future won’t be up in the air much longer. If it isn’t, we’ll probably have to do this—or something like it—all over again in a week.
