PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot has set tongues wagging around Europe as his contract with the Ligue 1 mega club is set to expire in June. He’s said to be open to a move outside of France, and naturally this has piqued the interest of several big name clubs, Liverpool chief among them.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Liverpool have made a sizeable and impressive offer for the 23-year-old Timothée Chalamet lookalike, which Rabiot is said to be considering as he heads into his final season.
Also in the hunt are Barcelona and Spurs — should the North London club decide to buy any players next summer, I guess.
A talented midfielder, Rabiot would make a good addition to Klopp’s roster. Weirdly, though, the rumour has Fabinho possibly going the other way if the transfer happens, due to the new player’s “boredom” at Anfield.
Fabinho has only just gotten a few games under his belt with Klopp. It doesn’t seem likely that he’s eager to run off back to the continent, nor is it likely that Liverpool would sanction such a move even if he were.
Rabiot may yet find his way to Anfield, if he’s lucky. It’s too early to read the tea leaves on this one, except to say that FSG love a deal, and nabbing someone of Rabiot’s talent on a free would be very on-brand of them.
As the season progresses and Rabiot’s future becomes clearer, expect more rumours popping up linking him to Anfield.
