Liverpool have been linked with Borussia Dortmund and USMNT star Christian Pulisic for quite a while at this point, but with just over 18 months left in his contract with Dortmund and rumours of contract negotiations breaking down, the rumour mill may soon go into overdrive.
The latest piece of this particular rumour ties in recent signing Fabinho’s future at the club. Per John Richardson at The Mirror, both AC Milan and Juventus have expressed interest in the Brazil international, and any funds from his departure could be used to bring Pulisic to Anfield.
Liverpool are of course not the only Premier League club interested in the 20-year old, but the Klopp connection may tip things in the Reds’ favour. Said one club source: “Having watched Christian develop, there is no way Jurgen is going to back off now. He knows he is a talent who can light up the Premier League.”
Whether or not Klopp is able to get his way in terms of signing Pulisic, it seems unlikely that Liverpool would be so quick to sell Fabinho who has made only eight appearances for the club so far. If Pulisic does end up Anfield-bound, it’s far more likely that Klopp (and FSG) will find a different way to make it happen.
