In the wake of the Philippe Coutinho saga finally ending, Liverpool have been linked to anyone and everyone under the sun. The footballing world waits and holds its breath, wondering where the Coutinho windfall ends up.
With rumor mongers rumor mongering in overdrive, it’s hard to know what is real and what is fake. The latest report about Liverpool target Leon Goretzka is likely made up, but it has at least a ring of truthiness to it. The report, from the seemingly random SFR SPORT journalist Loic Tanzi, indicates that Klopp has made Goretzka his top priority.
“They want [sign Goretzka], but not necessarily this month, their priority is not Thomas Lemar. But Leon Goretzka… they are doing everything to try to convince him, despite the fact he is close to Bayern Munich.”
Now, reports out of France might be more reliable due to the speculation around Lemar, but that would not necessarily translate into knowledge about the Goretzka situation.
Bayern Munich still appears to be the favorites to land the German international, but it seems we’re at least in the conversation. And I’m sure this isn’t the last report from a seemingly random source on the matter.
